New leaked memos indicate that the split in the ruling party is getting wider by the hour
On Monday October 8 I wrote about a split in Zanu-PF, with the party's Bulawayo faction banning a march led by controversial activist Jabulani Sibanda (Check it out, below: "Zanu-PF in new major conflict with...Zanu-PF") I thought then that I was breaking big news. It now appears I didn't know the half of it.
If the information I have since been given is correct, then this is no normal split, no run-of-the-mill shouting match. Instead it is virtually all-out war.
A memo emanating from the Bulawayo branch of Zanu-PF, shown to me this week, indicates that Sibanda, leader of the War Veterans, has been labelled a "Prime Score" - that is, a top target - and that four hit-men have been instructed to "immobilise him."
The memo, dated over a month ago, is addressed to the four men, who are said to be members of a shadowy gang simply known as "the boys". It points out that Sibanda had been expelled by the party, but re-introduced on the quiet by Mugabe himself, in order to lead the President's campaign to be endorsed as leader at the party congress in December.
"He is campaigning for Zim 1 (Mugabe) against our will," it reads. "The operation is critical in the succession issue..." And later: "Kidnap one of his children to put him in submission. You are aware which schools they attend..."
This extraordinary memo may or may not be authentic - but Zanu-PF in Harare certainly believe it is. A copy has reached them. And this week I was also shown a memo sent from Harare to the Bulawayo branch, which contains a grim warning.
"Please do not provoke us into monstrous actions," it reads. "We will hold the branch responsible for whatever might befall our comrade. Hands off Sibanda!"
I have also learned that Sibanda's family home in Nkulumane, Bulawayo, has now been put under 24-hour protection by the Central Intelligence Organisation.
"Immobilise him..." "Kidnap one of his children..." "Monstrous actions..." Mobster language from our party of government. These people are supposed to be on the same side. But with friends like that, who needs enemies?

Jabulani should be carefull with Mugabe
i bet with my worthless Zim Dollar that after elections Mugabe would simple forget about him
Jabulani needs not to be remindered of countless other who suffered the similar fate before him
