British paratroops descending from the blue skies of Zimbabwe to knock-out Robert Mugabe's evil and corrupt government and restore true democracy in our country - it's a thrilling and yet a frightening vision for we Zimbabweans.
But it is the vision of one of the most respected and best-loved figures in the country. He is Pius Ncube, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bulawayo - a man who, in standing tall against the forces of oppression, has always previously advocated non-violent resistance only.

Britain, the U.S. and Sth. Africa should all combine and invade Zimbabwe. It is absolutely disgusting that the world has just sat by and let this nation slide into anarchy. Zimbabwe used to be the bread basket of Africa but now it is just a basket case. Human rights are being abused by Mugabe, he is no hero of the people. He should have let the whites stay so they could help the blacks build a future together but instead he would prefer to sell his people into slavery with China. Mugabe is no freedom fighter but another Iddi Amin. The AU should get off its butt and pay some locals to shoot Mugabe dead.

i completly agree that we should send our troops into Zimbabwae/Rhodesia!! Cecil Rhodes would be so disgusted in what is happening in africa at the moment and what a state magabe has made of Zimbabwae/Rhodesia!! Britian needs to act alone and restore democracy and life to zimbabwae right away!! we are wasting time troops and money in Iraq we should be helping our former colonies fight this tyrant!!
GORDON SEND THE TROOPS TO AFRICA!!!

Out of luck on this one, it is very unlikely there will be any military intervention by the British.
There are several reasons for this, British forces are already over stretched in places such as Afghanistan, the British public have little taste for further military conflict as can be seen when military personal are killed.
But most of all the British establishment remain deeply embarrassed by the outcome in Zimbabwe that has resulted from their political engineering in 1980. Any military interference now would seen in the eyes of the world as an admission of Britain being the main architect of present regime in Zimbabwe.

It'd be a 3-day war... but then China would intervene and send world tensions into orbit like we've never seen. They've too much invested in financing Mugabe and waiting out the situation to let go when they're so close to taking Total Control without a direct military action. Russia would also threaten vulnerable western allies in retaliation.
Our only real hope is an internal solution... a coup by moderate mid-level officers who would take out the upper-level ranks in a closely coordinated action. At that point, the politios would break and run... and with zero experience, I doubt those military men would then have a clue as to the next step... at least, without guidance.
Only question would be the motivation of those who would then be in control, and what it would take to buy their loyalty. My guess is that groups within the State and Intelligence departments of several nations have been tasked with attempting to access the individuals most likely to organize and initiate such plans. Seldom will you find those people motivated by "love of country"... especially, when the risks to themselves are so very great.

It will never happen and quite frankly doesn't even warrant a discussion.
Other African states will view this as a neo-imperialist move and would get involved too.
